Jason's LX came to us nearly a year ago as a very low mileage weekend ride with a Vortech S-trim charger, and a host of other bolt-ons, but was way out of tune. After some extensive conversations about the possible performance options for the car, he opted to have the motor & blower yanked for some serious THR power.

With the motor out, Jason decided he wanted to repaint the car and repair some minor flaws in the pony's skin. One look at the Mineral Grey S-281 Saleen and he had his mind set for the color. As you can see it made for a beautiful LX in a very unique color scheme.

His new THR power plant started as a TFS Stage I Forged 308 with all ARP fasteners and a fully prepped block. The car ran excellent from the first strike of the key running string of low 13's and with a little tuning finally cracked the 12's all motor. Considering we are in El Paso with the track having an elevation of 4600 FT, that is a 12.20 @ 112 MPH    (corrected for sea-level) on a pump gas daily driver without any power adders!

With the motor well broken in, Jason quickly dropped the car back off for the addition of a Novi 1000 with a few THR tweaks bringing the boost up to a full 10lbs. In addition, he opted for some more suspension to assist with the new found HP of the blown smallblock. In went a full Tubular front consisting of a D&D K-Mem, Tubular A-Arms, Front Coil-Overs, and a Flaming River Manual Rack Conversion.

Now back in action with a vengeance, it was back to the track for some 11 sec timeslips! Keep in mind that this is at 4600 FT ABOVE SEA LEVEL! Corrected numbers would be in the high 10's / low 11's on pump gas as a daily driver! Not bad for a very mild mannered streetable stang in our books.  Check back for a more comprehensive list of modifications as we add to the site!
