Colin's 96 SVT Cobra sports a completely rebuilt & forged mod motor with Forged SRP Probe Pistons, Moly Rings, Forged H-Beam Rods, and a Forged Cobra Crank. In addition to the new motor, we added a Novi 1000 charger tuned and tweaked to produce a ground pounding 10lbs of boost. The car has also had a full 31-spline Eaton posi, Superior Axles,  4.10's, and a Billet Girdle installed to help keep the RPM's in the sweet spot without tossing the axles out back.

With an AFM powerpipe, a complete MSD DIS-4 set-up including dual tach adapters & dual coil packs, this little mod motor makes serious numbers. After installing the new .20 over forged block we dropped in a set of MAC Full Length HTS Coated long tubes with a BBK Hi-Flow Cat X-Pipe, and a new fuel system to handle the increased HP now on tap. Of course the factory clutch was dumped for a new Spec Stage III Hybrid and a FMS aluminum driveshaft was tossed in for good measure. After the initial start-up, it was off to Murillo Motorsports for Mike's magic touch.

After some basic tuning of the new multi-tune Diablo Revo chip, we noticed that numbers were down for the mods and the amount of boost. We checked the new set-up and found the C&L not to be talking to the 42lb injectors under boost so we swapped in a new 90mm lighting mass air that was more accustomed to the extra fuel & huff from the Novi. Still no luck as the numbers jumped back into tune for the air/fuel ratio, but RWHP was still not impressive yet.

After diligently checking to make sure all was in tack, we decided to pull the intake to check the IMRC's (intake manifold runner controls) to see if they were opening and closing to allow full use of the Cobra Multi length runner set-up. Bingo! The runners and motor were definitely the hold-up. Imagine trying to run the Boston Marathon breathing through a McDonald's Straw! Not Good! Once we finished the custom IMRC delete back on went the intake and away we went for some real HP numbers.

First pull on the new set-up...377 RWHP!! Now we're talking! With Mike burning the midnight oil for the 3rd straight day, he managed to conger up an amazing 53 RWHP gain bringing the little low compression mod motor to a stout 430 RWHP! All this on Pump Gas with A/C and all the amenities!
